52 FILMS BY WOMEN- WEEK 17

Sorry this is so late guys. this week has been terribly busy and I have had deadlines. Next weeks worse so don't expect too much from me!!!
 ANYWHO THIS WEEKS MOVIE IS...
Tinkerbell and the Pirate Fairy
Dir: Peggy Holmes
2014
So this is just fun. Not particularly great not very bad just fun. Also random realisation that there are not enough pirate movies for girls so I kinda love this film for that. Also Disney movies are the only cure to sadness
Pirates should be for everyone!

Nailing it with Dinkibelle

So guys this post is super exciting! I recently got gifted by Dinkibelle these amazing nail wraps and I thought I'd do a little blog post about them!

52 FILMS BY WOMEN- WEEK 16

So this week is a first. The first African film I have ever watched. Boy is this challenge broadening my horizons! Anyway let's take a look shall we.

Ties That Bind
Dir: Leila Djansi
2011
This has got to be one of the most emotional films I have ever watched. It also was really exciting something was happening every five minutes. What seemed like it would turn out to be a standard chick flick turned out to be one of the most incredible films I have ever seen.

Work Experience Talk with the Dinosaur

So guys I know far too many young people about to run into work experience without a lot of research so I thought I would do this handy-dandy post on Work Experience. Now I did this a few years ago but honestly the info is still valid. This is completely inspired by Pumble's post about what she learned on Work Experience check it here

It's in Q+A form mostly and Under the Cut!

52 FILMS BY WOMEN- WEEK 15

So this week I have gone for a serious cult gem. This movie is a revelation it's one of the best ones I have watched so far and it is criminally underrated. Ladies and Gentleman I introduce you to...

TurboKid
Dir: Anouk Whisell, Francois Simard, Yoann-Karl Whisell
2015
If you loved Mad Max Fury Road and Tankgirl you are going to love this. It has to be one of the most fun films I have watched recently. A real fun homage to everything 80's. Set in the dystopian future of 1997 after an acid rain induced breakdown of civilisation The Kid lives in the wasteland only to bump into a strange girl called Apple.
Everything about this movie is perfect and you need to watch it right now!

52 Films by Women- WEEK 14

So everything has been crap recently but I promise through April I will try to pick up the ball again! But until then this weeks film is....

First Position
Dir: Bess Kargman
2011
So this was a whim watch! I didn't have long and wanted to watch something completely different but this actually turned out to be super watchable. The most interesting parts were the male dancers and seeing them work as it was nice to see a focus that wasn't just about the girls. The girls though were really interesting too. It was actually a really interesting watch. I may not understand or be able to do ballet but I sure as hell was interested in it!
